The Venue
Where exactly is Moon Flower Hill?
Moon Flower Hill is a 15-acre estate at 14000 FM 2769 #9 in Volente, Texas, above Lake Travis, about 30 minutes northwest of downtown Austin and 45 minutes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
What spaces are on the property?
Luna Manor (6,000 sq. ft. mansion), the Pavilion (3,600 sq. ft. tented event space), the Veranda (covered outdoor living with a grand fireplace), the Luna Room and Oak Room (bridal and groom prep suites), and the grounds (lawns, oak groves, Lake Travis overlook). Coming in 2027: the Glass House (8,500 sq. ft. floor-to-ceiling glass pavilion for up to 500 guests), the resort-style pool, and The Hideaways at Moon Flower Hill (ten private overnight retreats).
How many guests can the property hold?
Today, the property comfortably hosts up to 250 seated or 400 cocktail-style. Once the Glass House opens in March 2027, the Glass House alone seats 350 (or 500 cocktail), with additional seating available across the rest of the estate.
Is the event fully private?
Yes. Moon Flower Hill hosts one event at a time. When your event is on the calendar, the entire 15-acre estate is yours, no shared spaces, no parallel weddings.
Booking & Planning
How does pricing work?
Every event is quoted individually around the date, guest count, the spaces you'll use, the bar tier, and whether the Glass House (from March 2027) is included. After an inquiry, we send a custom proposal within a few days.
What's included in the venue rental?
Exclusive use of the 15-acre property: Luna Manor (the main house), the covered Pavilion, indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception spaces, the Luna Room and Oak Room getting-ready suites, executive kitchen access for your caterer, tables and chairs, on-site parking, and day-of venue staff. Catering, florals, music, photography, and event coordination are bring-your-own-vendor.
How far in advance should we book?
Saturdays in peak season (spring and fall) typically book 12–18 months out. Friday and Sunday dates, off-season Saturdays, and weekday corporate bookings are often available with shorter lead times.
What's the minimum event size?
There isn't a minimum guest count. Microweddings and intimate gatherings are welcome, every event is a private, full-property rental, so smaller groups still get exclusive use of the 15 acres. The Veranda or the Luna Manor dining room often anchor smaller events while the rest of the property stays serene around them. Worth knowing: the venue rental rate is based on the property, not the guest count, though bar and other vendor costs scale with size.
What's the deposit and cancellation policy?
A signed agreement and deposit hold your date. Specific deposit amounts and cancellation terms are included in the custom proposal, they vary by season and event type.
Bar Service
Does Moon Flower Hill provide the bar?
Yes. Bar service is the one catering element we run in-house. It's fully licensed and staffed, with four package tiers: Classic, Premium, Ultra Premium, and Non-Alcoholic.
Can we bring our own alcohol (BYOB)?
No. Outside alcohol is not permitted. Our bar is licensed to serve on the property; bringing in beverages outside that license isn't possible.
What's included in each bar tier?
Package menus, brand lists, and per-person pricing are sent with your proposal. All tiers include professional bartenders, bar setup and breakdown, glassware, ice, mixers, and garnish. The Non-Alcoholic tier includes a full zero-proof program.
Can you accommodate signature cocktails?
Yes. Our bar program routinely builds custom signature cocktails, happy to work from a recipe you bring or build one together during the planning process.
Catering & Vendors
Do you provide catering?
No, you bring your own caterer. We're intentionally a venue rental, not a package deal. The only catering element we provide in-house is the bar.
Are we required to use a preferred caterer?
No. You can use any fully insured and licensed caterer. We keep a preferred-vendor list as a starting point, but it's a recommendation, not a requirement.
What about planners, florists, photographers, and other vendors?
Same rule, your choice. No vendor lock-ins, no approval process beyond a standard certificate of insurance, and no markups on outside services. See the preferred-vendors page for teams we trust on the property.
Are food trucks or outside food vendors allowed?
Yes. Food trucks and outside catering are welcome, they just coordinate access and load-in details with our team in advance so setup runs smoothly on the day.
Weddings
Do you host both ceremony and reception on-site?
Yes. Most couples hold the ceremony on the grounds (the oak grove, the Pavilion lawn, or the Lake Travis overlook) and the reception in Luna Manor, the Pavilion, or, from March 2027, the Glass House.
Do you host Indian, South Asian, and multi-day weddings?
Yes. The property is well-suited to multi-day weddings with Mehndi, Sangeet, Baraat, and reception across different spaces. Extended-use pricing is available for multi-day events.
Is there a rain plan?
Yes. The Pavilion, Luna Manor, and the Veranda all function as full indoor backups for an outdoor ceremony, and the Glass House (opening 2027) adds a fourth. We walk through the rain plan in detail during the planning process.
Corporate & Other Events
What kinds of corporate events work well here?
Off-site meetings and retreats, leadership summits, client dinners, board meetings, holiday parties, galas, and fundraisers. Luna Manor's boardroom and breakout rooms, plus reliable Wi-Fi and AV, make multi-day corporate programming straightforward.
What about non-wedding social events?
Moon Flower Hill hosts galas, milestone birthdays and anniversaries, rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, private dinners, and family reunions. See the /events page for the full list.
Accommodations
Can guests stay on the property?
The Hideaways at Moon Flower Hill, ten private retreats on the property, open in 2027. Until then, overnight stays happen off-site at Lake Travis area resorts, Volente and Lago Vista hotels, or downtown Austin (about 30 minutes away).
Is there prep space for the wedding party?
Yes. The Luna Room is a dedicated bridal preparation suite, and the Oak Room is the groom's preparation suite. Both are private, climate-controlled, and set up with lighting and mirrors for hair and makeup.
Logistics
Is there on-site parking?
Yes. Parking for all guests is included with the property rental. For larger events, we can coordinate valet, ask during planning.
Are pets allowed?
Well-behaved dogs are welcome in outdoor ceremony moments. Extended pet presence during the event is handled case-by-case, talk to us during planning.
Is the property accessible?
Luna Manor, the Pavilion, and the Veranda are wheelchair accessible, and accessible parking is available near the main entrance. Some grounds areas have grade transitions, let us know any access needs and we'll plan around them.
What's the event end-time?
Music typically ends by 11pm with guests departing by 11:30pm, in line with local sound ordinances. Extended end-times can sometimes be accommodated with advance notice.
