How to plan a multi-day Indian or South Asian wedding on one private estate: spaces for Mehndi through reception, BYOV catering, fire rituals, and guest lodging near Lake Travis.
Most venue tours are built around a single ceremony and a single reception. Multi-day Indian and South Asian weddings are not. Mehndi, Haldi, Sangeet, Baraat, ceremony, and reception each need room to feel intentional, and the catering and ritual details are not optional extras.
This guide explains how to evaluate a multi-day wedding venue using the same filters we use at Moon Flower Hill: distinct spaces across consecutive days, bring-your-own catering, outdoor settings that can support fire-centered rites with a safety plan, exclusive use of the property, and a clear guest lodging story.

What “multi-day ready” actually means
A multi-day-ready venue can sequence cultural events across days and spaces without forcing every gathering into the same ballroom. You are looking for:
- Space variety so Mehndi, Sangeet, ceremony, and reception each have a home
- Exclusive use so Baraat, load-in, and evening timing are not competing with another event
- Catering freedom for the South Asian cook your family trusts
- Outdoor ceremony options suited to fire-centered rites when your tradition calls for them, with placement and safety planned in advance
- A lodging plan that matches whether overnight stays are on property later or at partner hotels now
If a property can only offer one indoor room reused three nights in a row, it may still work for some families. It is a different product than a private estate weekend.
A simple flow across one private estate
At Moon Flower Hill, a typical multi-day celebration can move across fifteen private acres overlooking Lake Travis in Volente, about thirty minutes from downtown Austin. One shape it can take (yours can simplify or expand):
- Mehndi in an intimate covered living space such as the Veranda
- Haldi in morning light on the lawn
- Sangeet where music can fill a larger room such as the Pavilion
- Baraat with room to move across private grounds
- Ceremony outdoors on lawns or grove settings when fire-centered rites belong outside
- Reception with real guest flow in the Pavilion or Luna Manor today; the Glass House opens March 2027 as a future indoor option for about 300 to 350 guests
That mapping is a starting point, not a rigid package. The point is distinct spaces on one exclusive estate, not three hotel events that happen to share a zip code.
BYOV catering and the bar
For many South Asian families, the caterer is not a detail. Regional Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, vegetarian, Jain, halal, and modern menus rarely fit a single in-house hotel kitchen.
Moon Flower Hill does not run an in-house kitchen and does not take a cut of your caterer’s invoice. Bring a fully insured, licensed South Asian caterer your family trusts. A preferred list can be a starting point, not a lock-in. The kitchen supports your culinary team.
Alcohol and bar service run through Moon Flower Hill under TABC. Outside alcohol is not the model. That split keeps food with your caterer and beverage service compliant on property.
Mandap, agni, havan, and open lawns
Open lawns and grove settings at Moon Flower Hill are suited to a mandap and to fire-centered rituals such as agni and havan. The estate is exclusive for your celebration, so you are not negotiating ritual space against a shared hotel courtyard.
Placement, timing, and safety details are planned with you so the ceremony can be done properly. Confirm exact requirements during planning. Do not assume every venue that photographs well outdoors can support open flame.
Baraat on private acres
Because the whole property is yours, a Baraat can move across fifteen private acres with family and dhol energy, without turning into a public-street logistics problem. That is one of the practical differences between an exclusive private estate and a shared campus.
Capacity and rain plan (today vs 2027)
Verified today:
- Grounds: up to about 350 guests
- Pavilion: about 250 seated for a reception
- Indoor and covered backups include the Pavilion, Luna Manor, and Veranda
Coming later:
- Glass House: opens March 2027; planned for about 300 to 350 guests indoors; taking reservations; not open now
- Hideaways: on-property overnight retreats beginning in 2027; not available now
Do not plan current bookings as if Glass House or Hideaways are already open.
Where guests stay now
Until the Hideaways arrive in 2027, two hotel partners (a Hyatt and a Marriott Residence Inn) offer exclusive MFH rates about nine minutes from the estate. Mention your event at Moon Flower Hill when you book so you can ask for the MFH rate. Cedar Park, Leander, Four Points, and downtown Austin (about thirty minutes) work for larger guest blocks.
Exclusive use, one celebration at a time
Moon Flower Hill hosts one wedding at a time. The fifteen-acre estate in Volente is reserved for your family across your event days. No shared spaces and no other party on site. That exclusivity is what makes multi-day load-in, Baraat, and evening timing feel like one private celebration.
How pricing works
Every celebration is quoted custom based on your dates, the events you are planning, guest count, and the spaces you need. There are no packages and no published price list on this guide. The useful next step is a private tour, then a conversation with the team.
Checklist before you shortlist any multi-day venue
- How many consecutive days, and which events (Mehndi, Haldi, Sangeet, Baraat, ceremony, reception)?
- Can each event have a distinct space, or is it one room reused?
- Is outside South Asian catering allowed without a kitchen lock-in?
- What is the fire / mandap / outdoor ceremony policy, including safety planning?
- Is the property exclusive-use for your dates?
- What is the guest lodging plan today versus future on-site options?
- What are real indoor backups if weather shifts?
- What is the honest capacity for ceremony grounds versus seated reception?
