1. Multi-day space, not one reused room
Ask whether Mehndi, Haldi, Sangeet, ceremony, and reception can each have a distinct setting across consecutive days. At Moon Flower Hill, fifteen private acres overlooking Lake Travis support that flow (for example Veranda for Mehndi, Pavilion for Sangeet, grounds for ceremony, Pavilion or Luna Manor for reception today, with the Glass House opening March 2027 as a future indoor option).
2. True BYOV catering
Confirm you can bring the South Asian caterer your family trusts. Moon Flower Hill does not run an in-house kitchen and does not take a cut of the caterer’s invoice. Vegetarian, Jain, halal, regional, and modern menus are possible because your culinary team cooks them. Bar service runs through Moon Flower Hill under TABC.
3. Mandap and fire-centered rites
If your ceremony includes a mandap, agni, havan, or other fire-centered rituals, ask about open lawns, placement, and safety planning. Moon Flower Hill’s open grounds are set up to welcome those rites; details are planned with you so the ceremony is done properly.
4. Room for Baraat
Ask whether a Baraat can move on private property. Exclusive use of fifteen acres at Moon Flower Hill gives the procession room without public-street complexity.
5. Exclusive use
One wedding at a time changes load-in, sound, and guest flow. Moon Flower Hill reserves the whole Volente estate for your celebration across your event days.
6. Honest capacity
Verify ceremony capacity versus seated reception capacity. At Moon Flower Hill today: grounds up to about 350 guests; Pavilion about 250 seated. The Glass House (March 2027) is planned for about 300 to 350 guests indoors and is taking reservations; it is not open now.
7. Rain plan on property
Name the indoor or covered backups. Moon Flower Hill uses the Pavilion, Luna Manor, and Veranda as contingencies so an outdoor plan has a real home if weather shifts.
8. Guest lodging story
Separate “on site now” from “coming later.” Hideaways on-property overnight retreats begin arriving in 2027 and are not available now. Partner Hyatt and Marriott Residence Inn hotels are about nine minutes away with exclusive MFH rates; mention your event at Moon Flower Hill when you book. Larger blocks can use Cedar Park, Leander, Four Points, or downtown Austin (about thirty minutes).
9. Drive time and setting
Moon Flower Hill is in Volente at 14000 FM 2769 #9, about thirty minutes from downtown Austin and about forty-five minutes from Austin-Bergstrom. It is a private estate overlooking Lake Travis, not a beachfront hotel lawn.
10. Pricing model
Ask whether you are buying packages or a custom proposal. Moon Flower Hill quotes custom by dates, events, guest count, and spaces. There are no published packages on this checklist.
